Seeking information on the BRACKETT and WHITESIDE
families living in Shelby county in 1800. John BRACKETT and wife (possibly
Phebe DAVIDSON). John died in 1818. A Phebe appeared in the census as head
of household in th 1820 census. A John and Phoebe (b. 1763, whose parents
were Joshua DAVIDSON and Sarah OWEN) were married in Prince Edward County,
VA in 1795. Isaac WHITESIDE visited relatives living in Shelby County while
"on his way to join other WHITESIDE families in IL, and remained there
the rest of his life." Issac's grandmother was Elizabeth BRACKET, married
to Samuel WHITESIDE, whom I believe was related to this John BRACKETT.
