and his siblings Ann, Sarah who married Alexander McCormick, and Thomas
Burton Walker who married Nancy Woodruff. Jane Burton Walker's brother
Prettyman Burton had guardianship of the 4 children of his sister Jane
when she passed away in or around 1816. Jane was widowed in 1806 and when
she moved to Shelby County with her 4 young children in 1810, she remarried
in 1811 to Nathaniel Hankins. When did Jane die - actual/prox date, where
is she buried. Did she have children of the 2nd marriage. Nothing is known
of Jane or of her death except that Thomas, the youngest, said he was 9
years old when his mother died. Any information desired on these persons.

of 1820 shows George Milam with two sons born 1794-1802 one is probably

three daughters born 1810-1820. The IGI '94 shows an Elija MILAM having

Charles Montgomery STARR including parents, etc.. My information shows
he was born January 18, 1890 in Shelbyville. Any other information on STARR
(also possibly spelled STAHR) family would be most helpful. I am told we
are related to the STARR that married into the Cherokee Tribe through Caleb
STARR sometime in the late 18th century and that we are also related to
the notorious outlaw Belle STARR. I have not been able to make the connection
yet through family lines. Charles Montgomery STARR would be my grandfather.

been Nelson Co. One of his daughter's - Mary married William COLLINGS in
1789 in Nelson Co. and their first child was born in Shelby Co. in 1792.
The two counties may be explained by the formation of the new county of
Shelby. The family may not have moved. I realize this is sketchy information

married Elleanor Chappell 20 Jan 1815 Fleming County; daughter Sarah Finney
married Lewis Early 22 Apr 1828 Gibson County, Indiana. Additional children
were Alexander Finney, Andrew Finney, Jane Finney, and Thomas Finney. Margaret,
her children, and their families moved to Gibson County, Indiana in 1819.
These families also had connetions to Harrison, Shelby, Hardin, Hancock
and Breckenridge Counties.

Co. Ind. James G. Winder was born in Bucks Co. PA. in 1794 1794 and was
in Hardin Co. KY. in 1820. The writing on the marriage record is not legible,
this is the reason for the different spelling of Cahoe, it could also be
Cohoe. Any help would be appreciated. I am not sure where the Cahoe Family
migrated from probably Maryland.

REED married 1st Capt. Kirkham, 2nd James Joseph SHAW, early 1800's, Shelby
County. Her marriage licenses show both Caleb REED and Thomas REED as her
parent. Supposedly she was born in PA. Census records for late 1700's show
a Caleb and Thomas REED in Fayette County, PA. Are these her family? I'm

a will in Shelby County leaving his estate to Erasmus Travis Brown. Erasmus
Travis was probably his son. He named Elijah Maddox the will's executor
and Thomas Maddox Travis' guardian. The Maddox brothers were sons of Wilson
Maddox. Erasmus Travos married Sarah Ann Lindsay on 30 October 1828 in

Civil War soldiers from Shelby County.
The Sixth Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regtiment. (Union) 1861-1864 was
organized by Col. Walter C. WHITAKER of Shelbyville,KY. It contained almost
100 men from Shelby County including the following men who were officers:
Robt. H ARMSTRONG, James W. BRISCOE, Harrison CHOATE, Thomas R. DANKS,
William B. DUNLAP, Elisha HEDDEN, James H. McCAMPBELL, John P. MASON, Charles
S. TODD,Richard T. WHITAKER and Harvey R. WOLFE. I am writing a history
of this regiment and seeking access to letters, diaries and photos of its
members. Any help would be appreciated.

GILMAN between the two women he had 19 children.I am descended from him

Sarah and George had one daughter, Mary Jane Chastain b. 6 Jan. 1848 in
Henry Co., KY. She was my great grandmother. Apparently Sarah died sometime
