Query: Abner was married to Susan Elizabeth Matthews in Culpepper, VA. One of his sons, born in 1808, was Archibald Kinkeade Gaines, who was my great, great Grandfather. Abner's father was James Gaines, his mother was Mary Pendleton. Both were born in Culpepper County, VA. My Grandfather was W.L.(William Legrand Gaines). He was born in Richwood, Boone County, in 1854. His father was Archibald K. Gaines, a son of Archibald Kinkeade Gaines. William and several of his brothers and sisters left Kentucky in 1870 to 1885, and moved to Texarkana Texas, and Texarkana, Arkansas. Wiilliam had a son, Jimmie L. Gaines, my father. Any information or contact with someone also descended from this branch of the Gaines family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
