Henry Clay Hubbard

Henry Clay Hubbard was the son of William Hubbard, Sr. He enlisted as a 4th Sergeant in Company A of the 10th KY Cavalry (Diamond's) of the CSA on September 10, 1862, in Prestonsburg. Henry was promoted to 1st Corporal on April 1, 1863. 1st Sgt. Henry Clay Hubbard was wounded in the left leg andcaptured at Mount Sterling onJune 10, 1864. He was in the hospital in Lexington until June 24, 1864,andwas then transferred to Camp Morton, a prison in Indianapolis, IN. Henrydied of Spinal Meningitis on February 27, 1865, while a POW. He isburied in Section 32 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.

Henry Clay Hubbard was the son of William Hubbard, Sr., the brother of William Hubbard, Jr., was also a Confederate POW. Henry died at the approximate age of 22 years.
