Eugene Rodney Hutchinson, Died August 9th, 2006. He was born 1-6-1939 in Martin, Ky. the son of the late D.M. (Doc) and Loretta Justice Hutchinson. He is survived by his wife of 45 years LouAnn Ries Hutchinson, six children, Lois (Barry) Johnson of Georgetown, Ky., Lisa (Bob) Zeller of Elsmere, Ky., David (Theresa) Hutchinson of Salyersville, Ky., Debra (Clifford) Jacobs of Martin, Ky., Daniel (Natasha) Hutchinson of Plainfield, Ct., Dennis Hutchinson of Martin, Ky. Seventeen Grandchildren, Adam Hutchinson, Amber (Derrick) Waid, Bobby Zeller, Stewart & Lucas Johnson, Katie, Michael And Logan Hutchinson, Rebecca, MaryAnn, and Mallory Zeller, Brittany and Charlotte Jacobs, Deven and Casey Hutchinson, And Jessica and Emma Hutchinson. There are two Great grandchildren Zeth Zeller and Haylee Waid. He is also survived by a sister Vivian Tackett of Martin, Ky., A brother Jack (Betty) Hutchinson of Lancaster, Ky., His mother and father in-law Alvina and Herbert Ries of Dyersville, Iowa. He is survived by many other family and friends. Rodney is a retired Sergeant with the Kentucky State Police. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He was Master of John W. Hall Lodge 950 and also a member of Oleika Shrine, Eastern Star, Hillbilly Clan, Trail 70�s Sons of the Desert, a 32nd degree (Redcap) of the Lexington Scottish Rite. He was a lifetime member of the Ted Adams Lodge and the DAV. He was a member of the Am Vets. He also served on the Martin city Council, the Martin Volunteer Fire Department. Rodney was an avid UK Fan and loyal Purple Flash. He did lots of service driving children to the Shriners Hospital for treatment. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald and his wife Jean, and his brother Garland and his wife Eula.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 12, 2006 at The Hall Funeral Home in Martin, Ky. with burial in the Gethsemane Gardens in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Visitation after 5:00 p.m., Thursday at the Hall Funeral Home. Lunch will be served at St. Martha�s Catholic Church, Watergap, Ky. after graveside services.
There will be a Masonic Funeral on Friday, August 11th, at 7:00 P.M..
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Martin Purple Flash Class of 1956, Masons and Retired Kentucky State Police.
Pallbearers will be Mc Arthur Jacobs, Robert Welch, Roger Barnette, Danny Stumbo, David Chaffins, William Petry, Johnny Layne and Kevin Henry.
In lieu of flowers Rodney requested that donations be made to: Shriners Children�s Hospital of Lexington, Trooper Island, or to the family.
