Edward J. Smith

FLORENCE - Edward Joseph Smith, 86, died Saturday at his residence.

He worked for Base Corp. in Norwood, was an World War II Army veteran and member of St. Paul Church, American Legion Post No. 203 and the local VFW in Covington.

His wife, Rita Smith, died previously.

Survivors include his son, Bernard Smith; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. A funeral Mass will be 12:10 p.m. at St. Paul Church, Florence. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Covington.
