Stevens Road |
This cemetery is located on the farm of Carl Smith on the North-West corner of Stevens and Petersburg Roads. Take I-275 West to Petersburg exit, bear right off the exit ramp and travel west approximately 1 mile to Stevens on the right. The cemetery is less than 1 tenth of a mile on the left side of Stevens. Please go to the farm house on Petersburg and ask permission before visiting the graveyard. |

Mr. Smith came out and greeted us the day we visited the cemetery and told us that most of the headstones were buried at this site and he dug them up and placed them against the trees. They are mostly in great shape, some are broken and some are barely legible. |

Base of stone - no markings. This could be the base of Rowland Botts' headstone or it could possibly be the base of Sarah G. Botts, his daughter. Sarah died July 28, 1843, aged 29 years, 11 months, 12 days. This was transcribed in Dec 1962 by Mrs. C. Davis Gaines, also by Shirley Biegel, and Anne Fitzgerald (1993) and is listed in the Boone County, Kentucky, Cemeteries by the Fitzgeralds. |
