Men with Anderson County ties that served in the WAR OF 1812

Submitted by Luther Davenport

Anderson County formed 1827 from parts of Mercer, Franklin,& Washington Counties. Although Anderson was not in existence during the war it is no doubt the residents here were no less patriotic than other citizens. Therefore I identified several companies enrolled from these three original counties, and obtained the muster rolls of each from the Adjutant General's report. I then crossed referenced these rolls with Anderson County documents, census reports, church and burial records, and family histories to put this list together.

Be advised that these names are all that I have identified so far. If anyone has a suspected ancestor that belongs then please submit a name and I'll be glad to compare to the index that I have, also This may not be all the companies from this area, just all I have identified,
