Harrison Leach

Harrison Leach was born 8 October, 1893, at Jellico Creek in Whitley County, Kentucky. His parents were Sneed LEACH and Jane POPE LEACH.
On September 27, 1913, he married Agnes Alice MOSES, daughter of
Sam MOSES and Dollie BYRUM MOSES.
Harrison served in World War I as a Private in the Army, with Company M, 22nd Engineers, with service in France. He departed to France from Camp Zachary Taylor in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. He was discharged from the Army with an Honorable Discharge on 28 April 1919, and returned to his family in Whitley County, Kentucky.
He was the father of seven children, with four living to adulthood.Harrison worked as a coal miner and spent several years working with the Kentucky State Highway Department. He and his wife made their home at Pleasant View in Whitley County until he entered the Veterans Administration Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, on the 26th of January 1953 with Lung Cancer.He remained in the hospital until his death on the 23rd of May 1953.He was buried in the Stanfill Cemetery, Pleasant View, Whitley County.
Harrison Leach was my very wonderful grandfather.
