Katherine Clarice Baird, age 90, of the Jellico Creek Community, Williamsburg, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on November 11, 1925 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to the late Estill Harber and Elizabeth Lee (Marcum) Harber. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Herbert Baird; a daughter, Carroll Lee Hymore and a brother Edwrd Harber. Mrs Baird was a member of the Jellico Creek Baptist Church for over 60 years where she taught Sunday School. She was a poll worker for Whitley County for over 20 years. She was an avid fisherman and reader and loved to share her cooking and gardening with others.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Sue Murray (Lowell) of Berea, Kentucky and Karen Jane Bryant (Donald) of Rockholds, Kentucky, two sons, Jerome E Baird (Daphne) of Williamsburg and John H Baird of Lexington, Kentucky, nine grandchildren, Melissa Anderson, Margaret Merrick, Stacey Bryant, Stephanie Mullins, Jeremy Bryant, Elizabeth Hardy, Leah Baird, Christopher Hymore and Katie Turner, 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at
the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Lester officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the Jellico Creek Cemetery. Aaron
Anderson, Jeremy Bryant, Stacey Bryant, Nathaniel Hardy, Christopher
Hymore and Morris Shelley will serve as pallbearers.
