Johnathan Mowery Short Biography
Johnathan Mowery was born in 1837/38 in Tennessee. It is uncertain where in TN he was born but it might possibly be
Knox County or
Anderson County. He was growing up in both areas. Johnathan was born to Moses and Nancy Mowry
(this is how it was spelled on all records found). Moses and Nancy had other children also.
These being Harvey, Martha, Henry, Sarah, Patsy A., and George A.
Johnathan served in the civil war in the 34th TN Infantry as a private.
On June 13, 1864 Johnathan married Nancy Hamblin in Whitley County, Ky.
She was the daughter of Reverend Daniel Hamblin and Barbara Monhollen (who died of Scarlet Fever in 1860).
They lived in Anderson
County Tennessee for quite a while where it is believed that all of their children were born.

Manila who married Calvin "Coly" Anderson, Burnette "Nettie" who married Speed Monhollen (a cousin of hers),
Mary who married Henry Archer, John Henry who married Averly Bolton, George W., and James M.

All of his children married there.
