Gibson to Hinds Indenture
This Indenture made and entered unto this 29 day of November 1853 between Henry Gibson and Elizabeth Ann Gibson his wife (late Elizabeth Ann Johnson) daughter and heir of Mary Johnson wife of Pleasant S. Johnson who was a daughter and heir of Joseph Hinds deceased late of Wayne County of the first part and Archibald Hinds of the County of Wayne and the State of Kentucky of the second part witnessest that the party of the first part heirs and legal representatives of said Mary Johnson late Hinds who was a daughter of Joseph Hinds deceased aforesaid for the consideration of the sum of eighty six dollars in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged they have this day granted bargained and sold by these presents do transfer and convey to the party of the first part his heirs and forever our undivided interest and share as heirs aforesaid in and to a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the county of Wayne and state of Kentucky on the big road leading from Monticello to Somerset on the right hand side of said road and being the same tract of land adjoining the one whereon the said Archibald Hind now lives containing 206 acres more or less and known as the Nancy Johnson tract and which Joseph Hinds deceased signed and _______ the party of the first part also sells and conveys to the party of the second part this undivided interest in the same tract which d_____ to them from Pleasant S. Johnson father of said Elizabeth Ann Gibson (late Elizabeth Ann Johnson) the interest hereby conveyed to said Pleasant S. Johnson was obtained by deed of conveyance from ____ Hinds Jr (?) and which descended to the said Elizabeth as aforesaid.
The right title interest and claim to the undivided interest and shares and its appurtenances the party of the first part covenants with the party of the second part that they will forever warrant the interest conveyed as aforesaid against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever.
In testimony whereof the party of the first part heirs as aforesaid have hereunto set their names and affirmed their seals the day and date first above written.
