The Will of Hugh Logan, b. 1776 Boteourt Co, VA 29 Oct 1846, Pulaski County, Kentucky Book 3, p 1050 Item the First- It is my will and desire that my beloved wife, Sally Logan have my plantation whereon I now live during her natural life, including the pond lot and woods, pasture and all on the west side of the same and at the death of my beloved wife, it is my will and desire the said land before described shall pass to my son Hugh Logan. I Also give to my son Hugh Logan the part he now lives on adjoining William Owens and John Cowan supposed to be about one hundred acres. Item Second- I will my son James M. Logan the plantation he now lives on supposed to contain about two hundred and fifty acres for which he holds my bond for title. Item Third- I will unto my son William H. Logan the plantation he has improved supposed to contain one hundred and fifty acres and joining the lands of William Owens and James M. Logan and running east as far as my land extends. Item Fourth- It is my well and desire that heirs of Lincoln Logan to wit Columbus Logan, America Logan, Carler Logan, John L. Logan and Sarah Jane Logan have the plantation he once lived on supposed to contain about one hundred and forty acres and bound on the east by James M. Logan on the south by Walden and Ford on the east by Stewart on the north by the Poor Houde Tract. Item Fifth- It is my will that my executors hereinafter named shall sell the remainer of my lands supposed to be one hundred acres more or less for the purpose of paying all of my just debts and funeral expenses and should that not be sufficient to satisfy the debts beside the cash and cash notes I have on hand, it is my will that each of my children that is Hugh Logan James M. Logan, and William H. Logan, pay their equal part and if ther should be anything over paying the debt to be equally divided between them or there heirs. It is my will that all of my household and kitchen furniture be for the use and benefit of my wife during her life, also all of my stock of all kinds, horses, cattle, sheep, and hogs,and after her death to be equally divided between my said children before mentioned. I also give unto my wife Sally Logan, my negro woman Sarah during her life then to my children and lastly I appoint my sons James M. Logan and William H. Logan Executors of this my last Will and Testament, revoking all other and former ones before heretofore made and do hereby empower them to transact all business after my death the same as I were living.
