*1817 - The sale of his estate is recorded on August 21, 1817. The following is
a transcription of the record: "The Sale of the Estate of Richard Elkins. Rody
Elkins to 1 cow - $10, Thomas Stephens to 1 mare - $36.25, Benj Van Hook to one
colt - $11.25, Wm Elkins to 1 ax and cliver - $1.50, Wm Elkins to 1 oven - $2,
Wm Elkins to 1 wheel - $1.34. Amt of above sale $52.72 & 1/2. Rhoda Elkins Admx
of the Estate of Richard Elkins. At a County Court held at the courthous thereof
in Somerset, Pulaski County on Monday the 22nd day of September 1817. This
amount of Sale of the Estate of Richard Elkins Recorded and the Same is don

*EXCERPT: "Richard Elkins 1786-1815, married Rhoda Stephens 1788-1837, daughter
of Francis. in 1806. Pulaski Co., KY. They had Francis, James, Thomas and
Mariah. Richard died in the War of 1812. In 1816, his brother, William, married
Rhoda and about 1817, moved to the Freetown area (INDIANA)....etc..."
