Henry Scott and Nancy Baugh Scott were married in Pulaski County in 1865. They
raised a
family of six children in Pulaski. One son was named Bryant S. Scott. I am
trying to find
out a little more about the siblings and also information about their parents.
Nancy's
family lived in Wayne County and she moved to Pulaksi with her mother after her
father
died I think. Nancy lived till 1905 and Henry married three more times. He died
in 1916.
His death certificate does not say where he was born but all information says
Tennessee.
If you have any information on this family, I would like to hear from you.
I believe Nancy's mother maiden name was Barbara Reed, and Henry's mother's name
was Anne
Miller. His father may have been Charles Scott from Davidson County, TN.
Thank you for your help.

21,1883 in
the Burnsided area of Pulaski County, KY. I have been told the court house
burnt. Is
there any kind of other birth records that exist for Pulaski County? What about
school
records? Thanks for your help. (His parents were George W. Mathews and Mary
Elizabeth
(Gauney).

Re: Birth Records
Posted By: Valerie Davis
Date: 8 February 2000
In Response To: WM. Savage Matthews (Char Matthews)
The Courthouse has not burnt. Birth records were not recorded consistently until
1911 (&
even then there was not full compliance). Records exist for 1852-59, 1861,
1874-78 &
start up again in 1911.
Having said that, there is also something called Delayed Birth Records. A birth
certificate was required to apply for Social Security, yet many folks were born
before
births were recorded. They had to appear at the Courthouse with proof of their
birth
(often a Family Bible) and then their birth record was created as a "Delayed
Birth". I've
never tried to see these records in KY, but I've seen them in other states --
they were
filed in a seperate book although they can also be intermixed with the regular
births --
start looking around 1930s? 1940s? (I can't remember when Social Security
started)
Another approach is to send for his Social Security Application -- this will
give birth
and parental info. Course all this is assuming he was alive at that time and
that he
applied for Social Security.
I don't know about the existance of school records, maybe someone else can
answer about
that. You might try for his military records though. Even if he did not serve,
he was
eligible to register for the WWI draft in 1917 (all men aged 21-31). In Sep 1918
the age
span was widened to include men aged 18-21, and 31-45.
Hope this helps!

Not
everyone agrees exactly on the early BAKER families. But most everyone I know
who

Andrew BAKER had to buy back part of his own land from Peter JEFFERSON (father

The Doss family is from Middlesex CO., Virginia ca 1700 and before. Jonathan
Doss married
Sarah Herring at Christ Church. Since the Herrin(g)s may be of that line it may
be that
the Doss' are as well.

Are you related to the Lynch / Martin family? If so, how?? Have recently made a
trip to
the Eagle Creek cemetry hoping to locate the graves of John Martin and Frances.
Only
found field stones with no names or dates. Did find son John Jr. buried there.
Do you
know where John K. and Frances are buried?? Located the minister who was not
able to
supply information as records burned years ago. Still trying to locate
information on
William Lynch. He still remains a mystery.
