Amanda Francis Phelps Whitis Irvine

    Amanda Francis Irvine, Route 1, Eubank, died Friday after several weeks illness.
    The daughter of James and Mary Clark Phelps, she was born December 4, 1876 in Pulaksi County. She was married to Ervin (Evan) Whitis who preceeded her in death. She later married Andrew J. Irvine, who also preceeded her in death.
    Mrs. Irvine was a member of the Baptist church.
    Survivors include the following children, Mrs. Florida Hargis, Bobtown; Lincoln Whitis, Dabnet; Menifee Whitis, Route 1, Eubank; Garfield Whitis, Route 1, Eubank; one brother, Robert Phelps, Cleves, Ohio; and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Miller, Richmond, Ind., and Mrs. Lillie Smiley, Greencastle, Ind.
     Funeral services were held Sunday at the Eden Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Hopkins officiating. Burial was in the Eden Cemetery.
