Directions from Sandy Muncy--Take Mountain
Parkway from Lexington to Quillin's Chapel Rd. exit 42.
Turn left onto Rt 1653 West and cross the overpass over the
interstate. Immediately after the bridge is a road off to
the right. It is a 2 lane blacktop road Rt. 3039 and is
beforethe salt dome on the left side of the road which you can
see from the interstate. Follow 3039 for a mile or so and
then turn left onto Quillin's Chapel School Rd. There is a
brick ranch house on the corner of 3039 and Quillen's Chapel
School Rd. Go up the hill. At the top of the hill you
must go left or right. There is a sign on the left that
says Spencer Rd. but I am not sure if it is for the gravel road
on the left or the paved road on the right. Bear to your
right in a 90 degree turn and follow the road until it turns into
gravel. Shortly after the gravel you will see a pull off on
the left. Park there and walk to the cemetery which is at
the top of a steep hill right in front of the pull-off. The
cemetery is well maintained and although the hill is steep it is
not that high or hard to climb. It is directly in the sun
with no shade. Alley King is buried on the top ridge of the
hill, sort of in the center. His stone faces the side of
the hill you climbed and he lies between his first wife Serilda
and his son by his second wife, Lillian, Verl Oscar (or Oscar
Verl). The cemetery is NOT on private property.
