Funeral services for Jasper D. Tapley, 72, retired coal miner and
lifetime resident of McCreary County, were held Monday Sept. 19,
at 1 o'clock at McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with burial
following in Angel Cemetery./ The Revs Henry Cox and T.J.
Watters conducted the services./ Survived by his widow,
Mrs. Vertie Tapley, he was born in this county to Jimmy and Judy
Stidham Tapley on Feb. 16, 1905, and died after a lingering
illness at Lake Cumberland Medical Center at Somerset on Sept
17./ Eight children and 15 grandchildren are among
survivors. With one child Dester Tapley, deceased, he is survived
by the following; Flora Boyatt, Bella Winchester and Jimmy Tapley
of Stearns, Ronald Tapley of Whitley City, Donald Tapley of
Muncie, Ind., Hazel Slaven and Shelia Thompson of Harrogate,
Tenn./ He had two brothers and a sister who preceded him in
death and is survived by six others; Charlie Tapley of Strunk,
Henry and George Tapley and Lula Watters of Stearns, Lottie Blevins of
Monticello and Annie Daugherty of Pine Knot./ He was a member of Second

ZADA WILSON TRAMMELL
Mrs. ZADA WILSON TRAMMELL, 79, died
September 17, at her home Hill Top following a prolonged illness.
She was the daughter of the late Susan Jane Maxwell Wilson and
James Wilson and the wife of Lincoln Trammell. Mrs. Trammell was
a native Kentuckian and was born June 2 1882. She was a member of
the Pleasant Rock Baptist Church, Smithtown.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m.
in the Nancy Grave Church with Rev. Levi Cox and Rev. Dakota
Waters officiating. Burial was in the Nancy Grave Cemetery.
Mrs. Trammell is survived by her husband.

ALLIE FAIR TROXELL, 71, died,
Wednesday, May 13, at her home at Hill Top.
The deceased was born at Yamacraw,
Kentucky May 11, 1893, and was a daughter of the late Tolbert
Roberts and Reida Troxell Roberts.
Survivors are: Her husband George
Troxell, one son Clyde Troxell, Hill Top; one daughter Mrs.
Myrtle Brooks, Cincinnati; two brothers, Grant Roberts, Stearns,
Rt.1; Elisha Roberts, Hill Top; and one sister, Mrs. Roxie
Collins, Cincinnati.
Funeal services was held Friday at
2 p.m. from the Hill Top Church with Rev. Roy Lewis officiating.
Burial was in Hickman Cemetery. Her grandsons served as active
pall bearers.

Bell Zora Troxell, 50, died February 19 at her home in Whitley
City./ She was born July 20, 1925 at White Oak Junction. The
daughter of the late Garfield Troxell and Barbe Troxell. She had
lived all her life in McCreary County and was a member of the
White Oak Junction Baptist Church./ Survivors include a
sister, Mrs. Louina Meadows of Marshes Siding and two brothers,
George Troxell, Rt. 1 Whitley City and Lincoln Troxell of
Cooperative, Ky./ Funeral services were held Saturday,
February 21 at 2 p.m. at the White Oak Junction Baptist Church
with Rev. Earl Davis and Rev. Henry Cox officiating./
Burial was in Nancy Grave Cemetery./ Hickman Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie Dean Troxell
Bonnie Dean Troxell, 31, Hill Top, Kentucky, died Tuesday
morning, April 6, 1971, of injuries suffered in an auto accident
at Smithtown, Ky. She was on her way to work at the Stearns Shirt
Factory when the accident
occurred. Opal Worley, riding with her, was also killed and
another passenger was hospitalized. The deceased was born
October 30, 1939 in McCreary County, the daughter of Clyde Ray
Troxell and Juanita Benson
Troxell, both of whom survive. Also surviving are her four
children, Debra Kay, Tammy Sue, Anthony Wayne and Terry Wayne
Troxell, all at home; two sisters, Cathy Lou Troxell, Hill Top
and Mrs. Brenda Jones,
Cincinnati; and seven brothers, Dorman Ray, David Allen, Denny
Dale, and Jeffery Lee Troxell, all living at Hill Top; Larry
Cecil and Leroy Troxell, Cincinnati and Bruce Wayne Troxell,
Medina, Ohio. Funeral services were held Thursday at 1:30
p.m. in the Hill Top Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Troxell
officiating. Burial was in the Hickman Cemetery with
Hickman Funeral Home in charge.

Charlie W. Troxell
Funeral services for Charlie W. Troxell, 85, former resident of
McCreary County were held Monday, March 24, 1969 at 1:00 p.m. in
Isom Presbyterian Church, Isom, Kentucky. Rev. Willie Turner and
Rev. David Morrow officiated at the service. Burial was in the
family plot of the Evergreen Cemetery, Whitesburg, Kentucky, with
Blair Funeral Home, Inc., in charge of funeral arrangements. His
grandsons were active pall bearers. The deceased died Friday,
March 21, 1969 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital,
Whitesburg, Kentucky after a long illness. He was born to the
late Peter and Elizabeth Ann Sweet Troxell. He was a member of
the Old Regular Baptist Church. His wife Cynthia Troxell, and a
daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Troxell Wagers, preceded him in death.
Surviving are three daughters, Maggie Gregory, Kellogg, Iowa;
Gracie Grimes of Scuddy, Kentucky; Menda Gumm of Isom, Ky. Also
surviving is one sister, Alice Waters of McCreary County, 25
grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren as well as a host of
other relatives and friends.

Cynthia Wilson Troxell
Cynthia Wilson Troxell entered Eternal Life Wednesday, April 3,
1968 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital, Whitesburg,
Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Elihu and Louisa
Maxwell Wilson, She was a member of the old Regular Baptist
Church. She was born April 17, 1886, being 81 years, 11 months
and 16 days of age at the time of her passing. She is survived by
her husband Charlie W. Troxell, and three daughters, Mrs. Maggie
Gregory, Kellogg, Iowa; Mrs. Grace Grimes, Scuddy, Ky. and Mrs.
Menda Gumm, Isom, Ky. Also surviving are two brothers. Burl
Wilson, Stearns, Ky and Francis Wilson, Hill Top, 25
grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of
other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday,
April 6, at 2:00 p.m. in the Isom Presbyterian Church Isom,
Kentucky with Rev. Willie Turner and Rev. Ed Henegar officiating.
Burial was in the Family Plot of the Evergreen Cemetery,
Whitesburg, Kentucky. Her grandsons served as active pall
bearers. Now that she is gone I know that she is sleeping,
Resting up there with the Angels above, Some sweet day I hope to

Delbert R. Troxell
Delbert R. Troxell, born on June 3, 1920, passed away at the age
of 49 years on March 15, 1970. The
deceased was the beloved husband of Julia Helton Troxell, devoted
father of Danny Lee Troxell, and son of the late Franklin Lee and
Clementine Troxell. He became a member of the Wilson Ridge
Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized in the year of 1946
and remained a member thereafter. He left behind his wife
and son; six brothers Earl Hickman of Stearns; Reverend John
Troxell and Albert Troxell of Cincinnati; Robert Troxell of
Indianapolis, Ind.; Fred Troxell and Eugene Troxell of Forbus,
Tenn. three sisters, Mrs. Marie Wilson of Hill
Top; Mrs. Delcie West of Burlington, Ky., Mrs. Gracie Terry of
Cincinnati, and a host of other relatives and friends. One
brother, Dillard Troxell, preceded him in death.

DILLARD TROXELL, 32, died
instantly November 18, 1963, at Milford, Ohio, when the car in
which he was riding, was hit by a train at a railroad crossing.
Troxell was born at Yamacra, Ky.,
and was a son of the late Lee Troxell and Clementine Smithers
Troxell. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruby Troxell, two
sons, Dillard Troxell, Jr., 2 years old, and Kinney Ray Troxell,
one year old, all living in Milford; three sisters, Mrs. Marie
Wilson, Hill Top; Mrs. Delsie West, Burlington, Ky. and Mrs.
Gracie Terry, Cincinnati; seven brothers, Earl, Hickman, Stearns;
Robert Troxell, Indianapolis; Lester, Albert and Delbert Troxell,
all of Cincinnati, Eugene and Fred Troxell of Forbus, Tenn.
Funeral services were held
November 22, 1963 at Craven Funeral Home in Milford with Rev.
Armstrong officiating. Burial was in the newtown Cemetery.

George D. Troxell, 85, died Sunday, April 21, at his home at Hill
Top. He was born January 1, 1883 in Wayne (now McCreary County)
County and was a lifelong resident of the county. He was a
retired coal miner and a member of the Hill Top Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Daniel Troxell and Lourena Foster
Troxell. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hallie Roberts Troxell; a
son, Clyde Troxell, Hill Top; and a daughter Mrs. Myrtle Troxell
Brooks, Sidney, Ohio. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2
p.m. in Hill Top Baptist Church with Rev. Levi Cox officiating.
Burial was in Hickman Cemetery.

JAMES HARVEY TROXELL
JAMES HARVEY TROXELL, 66, a disabled
coal miner, died suddenly January 5th at his home on Pine Ridge
in Stearns of a heart attack. Mr. Troxell was a native to
McCreary County and was a member of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are his wife, Mr.s Bertha
Troxell, one daughter, Mrs. Norma Jean Stephens, Stearns four
sons, Willie and Charles of Stearns, Billy Ray and Jackie troxell
of Cincinnati; one brother Lee Troxell of Una, Ky., and two
sisters, Mrs. Lora Roberts, Stearns and Janie Waters, Muncie,
Ind.
Funeral services were held Friday at 1
o'clock from the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Rev. L.J.
Norris, pastor, in charge. burial was in Hickman Cemetery.

LEE TROXELL
LEE TROXELL, 81, a retired coal miner,
died April 30, 1962 at his home at Route 1, Union, Kentucky. The
body was returned her to Hickman Funeral Home to await funeral
service and burial.
Funeral services were held Thursday at
10 o'clock in the morning from the Hill Top Missionary Baptist
Church With burial in the Nancy Grave Cemetery. Rev. Levi Cox of
Whitley City was the officiating minister.
Mr. Troxell, before his retirement worked for
Stearns Coal & Lumber Company in their Yamacraw Mine. He was
born Aug. 9, 1882 in Wayne County, the son of Will and Kizzie
Winchester Troxell, both deceased. He was a member of the Beech
Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are seven sons, John L., Albert,
Delbert and Robert Troxell, all living in Cincinnati. Fred and
Eugene Troxell, Forbus, Tenn., Dillard Troxell, Union, Ky., four
daughters Mrs. Marie Wilson, Hill Top; Mrs. Delcie West and Mrs.
Gracie Terry, Union, Ky., a step-son, Earl Hickman, Stearns, and
two sisters, Mrs. Laura Roberts, Stearns and Mrs. Lillie Waters,
Whitley City.

Mary W. Troxell, 91, died Thursday, February 18, 1971, at her
home at Hill Top, Ky. Born August 23, 1879, in Wayne County, Ky.,
she was the daughter of the late James Wilson and Susie Jane
Maxwell Wilson. Her husband, Kirby Troxell, preceded her in
death. She was a member of the Pleasant Rock Baptist

MICHAEL E. TROXELL
MICHAEL E. TROXELL, age 4 1/2 years, died
May 14 at the home of his parents in Cincinnati. He had been ill
for several weeks prior to his death.
The body was returned to the Hickman
Funeral Home and prepared for burial and taken to the home of his
Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Troxell, in Stearns to remain
until Saturday afternoon.
Funeral services were held from the
Whitley City Church of God Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with
the Rev. Johnny Bryant in charge. Burial was in the Hickman
Cemetery. Pall bearers were Dallas Hickman, Donald Hickman,
Monroe Hicks and Carliss Nevels.
Michael is survived by his parents, two
brothers, his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Canada and
his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Troxell of
Stearns.

July 15 at the Scott County Hospital, Tenn. after a lingering
Illness./ A native of Whitley County, she was born November
5, 1887 to the late Joshua and Elizabeth Ross. She was a lifetime
resident of McCreary County and a member of the First Otter Creek
Baptist Church./ Survivors include five children, Alta
Barrier, Monticello, Sterling Troxell, Stella Waters, Maggie
Martin and Gilbert Troxell all of Revelo; two brothers, Lawrence
and Carl Troxell of Revelo, one sister, Nancy Jane Phipps,
Muncie, Ind. 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; seven
brothers, one sister and two children precede her in
death./ Funeral services were held July 17 at First Hickory
Baptist Church by Rev. Nathan Byrd. burial was in Troxell

Robert E. Troxell, 52, a resident of Stearns, died Sunday, October 18, in
Lexington from injuries sustained in a fall at his home one week previously.
The deceased was born May 10, 1918,
at Whorley and was a son of the late Lee Troxell and Clementine Smiddy (Smithers)
Troxell. Survivors are his wife, Nellie Wilson Troxell, Stearns; nine children,
Mrs. Joyce West, Donald Troxell,
Mrs. Anna Rexroat, Thelma Troxell, Dester Troxell and Mrs. Stella (Della) Vance,
all of Indianapolis; Estel, Janice (Janet), and Jackie Troxell, living at home;

SEIGEL TROXELL
SEIGEL TROXELL, 47, died Thursday at the
home of Everett Taylor in Revelo where he had made his home for
several months. Mr. Troxell, a retired coal miner and K&T
section hand, died suddenly of a heart attack. He was the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Troxell, and is survived by one
brother, Hillery Troxell, of Muncie, Ind.
Funeral services were held Saturday
afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Waters with Rev.
Sedley King and Rev. Levi Cox in charge. Burial was in the Waters
Cemetery at Bald Knob.
