WILLIE E WATERS, 56, Stearns, retired
coal miner, died Friday, May 29, 1964 in a Danville Hospital,
terminating a three months illness.
The deceased was born December 10,
1897 in the Bald Knob community, McCreary County, and lived here
all of his life. He was a son of Noah Russell Waters and Dicie
Ann Kidd Waters, both deceased. He was united in marriage October
19, 1918 at Carmago, Ky to Rosa Coil and to this union eleven
children were born, ten of whom survive. Mrs. Waters was a member
of the Beech Grove Baptist church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Rosa
Coil Kidd; six sons, Josh Waters, Uniontown, Ky; Ottis Waters,
Charlestown, S. C.; LeRoy Waters, Chester Waters and Paul Waters,
all of Stearns; Lonnie Waters, Jackson, Ky, four daughters, Mrs.
Peaarl Tapley, Mrs Christine Watson and Mrs. Barbara Smith,
Stearns; Mrs. Jean Cress, Delphia, Ky; one brother Nelson Waters,
Stearns, three sisters, Mrs. Mary King, Smithtown, Mrs Verda
Tapley, Whitley City and Mrs. Rachel Meadows, Stearns and
thirty-four grandchildren.
Funeral services was held Sunday,
May 31, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Hicklry Grove Baptist Church,
Revelo, with Rev. Everett King and Rev. Levi Cox officiating.
Burial was in the Stearns Cemetery.
Pall bearers were his sons, Josh,
LeRoy, Ottis and Chester Waters. Bob Smith and Areo Cress.
