Willard L. Waters, 50, Covington, Ky., died July 3 at Veterans
Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. He had been ill since August, 1978.
Funeral services were conducted July 6 at 10 a.m. at Cold Springs
Baptist Church with Rev. Wilson officiating. Burial was in Floral
Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, Ky./ He was born Oct.
4, 1929, at Worley Hill Top to the late Dan and Alice Waters. He
married Betty Norris of Florida in 1968. He is retired from the
U.S. Navy and was a welder with Fruehauf Trailer Co., Cincinnati,
Ohio. A life member of DAV and a member of First Baptist Church,
Covington, he was honored with a military funeral at the
graveside by former members and shipmates./ During his
military services, he was stationed with his brother, Thomas, in
Iceland for 24 months, was a member of the honor guard in
Philadelphia, Korean veteran and Vietnam Veteran. His parents, a
brother, Robert, and two sisters, Ada and Ruth Ann Waters,
preceded him in death./ Survivors include his wife, Betty
Norris Waters; a daughter, Stacy, and a son Dwayne, all of
Covington; a son, Mark Waters, U.S. Navy, stationed in Naples,
Italy; six brothers, Milford and Dan Waters, both of Sidney,
Ohio, Everette Waters, Galion, Ohio, Edgar Waters, Covington,
Thomas Waters, Ludlow, Ky., and Lincoln Waters, Smithtown./
Connley Brothers, Covington-Latonia, Ky., was in charge of
arrangements.
