Noble Waters, 53, Route 1, Pine Knot, died Thursday, May 10,
1973, at Scott County Hospital, Oneida, Tenn. He had been in ill
health for several years. His wife survives. The son of the late
Joe Waters and Lueverna Foster Waters, he was born in Wayne
County, August 30, 1919. The family moved to McCreary County in
the early 1920's and he lived most of his lifetime here. He was a
graduate of Stearns High School. He married the former Ilet
Bradley of Whitley City August 19, 1939. They moved to Hamilton,
Ohio, during the 1940's where he was employed as a factory
worker. The family moved back to McCreary County only a few
months ago. He was a member of the Cherry Valley United Baptist
Church in Hamilton. Survivors, besides his wife, are four sons,
Kenneth Waters of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Glenn Waters of Loveland, Ohio,
Larry and Stanley Waters, Hamilton, Ohio; and two brothers, Melt
Waters, Whitley City, and Fred Waters, Revelo. Funeral services
were held Sunday, May 13, in First Hickory Grove Baptist Church
with Rev. Lloyd King and Rev. Steve Sullivan officiating. Burial
was in the Pine Knot Cemetery. Pall bearers were Harold Waters,
Albert Hughes, Bob Bradley, Joe Ryan, Clyde Stephens and Ronald
Murphy. McCreary County Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
