Lester Eugene Crabtree, 49, of Stearns died August 25 at the VA
Hospital in Dayton, Ohio after a lingering illness./ A
native of McCreary County, he was born February 15, 1927 to the
late Isham and Bertha Tabitha Crabtree. He was a factory worker
and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church./ Survivors
include five brothers, Laughton, Ashbury, Junior, Earnest and
L.D. Crabtree; three sisters Emma Thomas, Mary Ruth Huff and Anna
Rose Morgan. one sister preceded him in death./ Funeral
services were held August 29 a the McCreary County Funeral Home
Chapel by Rev. Lester Troxell. Burial was in the Lower Hickory
Grove Cemetery./ Funeral arrangements were handled by the
McCreary County Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Manuel Lawton Crabtree, Jr., 19, of Marshes
Siding, fatally injured in a traffic accident on Ky. 92 at
Smithtown on Christmas Day, were held Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m.
at McCreary County Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in
Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. the Revs. Oscar Worley and Arnold
Roberts conducted services./ Kentucky State Trooper Regal
Bruner investigated the accident but was unavailable for a report
on the accident. His car reportedly ran off the highway./
Crabtree was born Aug. 30, 1958, to Manuel Lawton and Maxine
Crabtree at Oneida but lived in McCreary County most of his life.
He was a member of Sidney, Ohio Baptist Church. Besides his
parents, he is survived by two brothers, Oscar Leroy and Michael
Crabtree of Marshes Siding; two sisters, Nadine Longmire of
Marshes Siding and Fayrene Wilson of Stearns; and a grandmother,
Ada Wilson, of Hill Top. Two brothers and three sisters are
deceased./ McCreary County Funeral Home arranged services.
