the family and was born in Martin County, KY on November 24, 1896.
Bartola and Thomas were married in Martin County, KY on October 10,
1881. Bartola's mother Mary Williamson and her father is unknown.
According to the census, Bartola's father was from England and her

Babe Sweeney and his second wife, name unknown circa 1900.
The children are all of his from both wives. The girl in the back
second from the left is probably Mae Nola Sweeney-Maynard. In the
back ground is tobacco drying. Babe's first wife was Nellie Rose,
maiden name unknown. Although the children remain unidentified, some
of their names were Mae Nola, Katherine, William, and Rose. Babe was
the son of John Steele Sweeney and Alice Monin, he was the youngest
