I am interested in finding information about my grandmother's family. Her name was Lula Delong Rowland (1897-1965) and her parents were Alfred and Zelphia Davis Delong. I am looking for the birth of my great grandmother, Georgia V. Spence. I was told that she was born in Martin Co. in 1913 but Social Security Death Records have her date of birth as August 2, 1912. She married Claude E. Watkins and she died in July 27, 1991 in Mercer Co., W.V. Would really like to find her proof of birth in Martin Co. Any help will be appreciated! I've been searching for information about my g-g grandfather Samuel Spence born 1855, a resident of Tomahawk, Martin county Kentucky between 1910-1940. There are no other records that I can find prior to 1910. He was married to Mariah Mollett. No marriage records. No birth records. Death records found for a Samuel Spence, born 1847, wife Mariah. DOB doesn't match. Parents named as James Spence and Annie Sawyer. Possibly an error. There was also a Samuel Spence in Greenup that was not my grandfather,  DOB 1847..... I was told that there may have been some trouble during the civil war. Samuel and two brothers split up because of it.
