Lydia Bell
Henson Taylor, 86, widow of Walker Taylor, Sr., passed away Wednesday at
her home in Richmond.
She was born
May 7, 1917, in Clay County to John and Maggie Henson, but lived most of
her life in Madison County. A loving mother and grandmother, she was a
homemaker and a member of the Waco Baptist Church. She was preceded in
death by her parents; a brother, Reece Henson; and an infant dauther,
Dexter Taylor.
She is
survived by two sons, Walker Jr. (Judy) of Waco and Donald of Berea;
four daughters, Dixie (Thomas) Shelton of Charlotte, N.C., Barbara
(Kenneth) Justice of Richmond, Margaret (Dean) Acker of Richmond and
Carol Taylor of Lexington; and one brother, Nelwood Henson of Richmond.
She is also
survived by three grandsons, Brad Taylor of Atlanta, Ga., Ty Justice of
Atlanta, Ga., and Jeff Griffith of Bowling Green; two granddaughters,
Michelle Eades of Berea and Teresa Taylor of Lexington; and three
great-grandchildren.
Visitation is
from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Turpin Funeral Home. Services are at 11 a.m.
Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Livingood of Waco Baptist
Church presiding.
Pallbearers
will be Lester Anglin, Hank Henson, Douglas Jackson, Charles Richardson
and her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Sarah Henson, Sherman
Shearer and Lydia Whittamore. Internment will be in the family plot in
the Richmond Cemetery.
