Mr. David Clay Spires, age 40 of Rt. 3 Mt. Vernon died Sunday, June 27 in Mt. Vernon as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Richmond, KY on Feb. 17, 1964 the son of Herman and Betty Morgan Spires. He was a member of the Viney Fork Baptist Church in Waco.

He is survived by his wife, Faith Habben Spires; two daughters, Jessica Denny and Heather Spires, both of Mt. Vernon; his mother, Betty Spires of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Sherri Stevens of Anderson, IN; and his maternal grandmother, Sally Morgan of Danville. Also surviving are his extended family, Anthony Lawson, David Richardson, and Harry Hunsucker, all of Mt. Vernon, and Eric Miller of Pine Hill.
