Smith, Mary


Mary Evelyn Smith, 85, widow of Woodrow W. Smith, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Kenwood Nursing Home in Richmond, KY. Born in Maysville, KY, she was a daughter of the late William and Hallie Kennedy Dargavell. A lifelong resident of Lexington, she was the oldest living member of Victory Christian Church. She is survived by a daughter and two sons, Helen J. (Don) Prather, Elgin, TX, Donald E. (Sharon) Clemmons, Lexington, and Walter Allen (Barbara) Clemmons, Richmond; a brother and sister, Walter Dargavell, Mt. Olivet, KY and Margie Zimmerman, Lexington; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald W. “Pete” Neal. Services will be 11 AM Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Carl Wagoner. W.R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Victory Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
