Nora Mae Saylor
Nora Mae Saylor, age 78, of Hamilton, passed away in Huntington Court, on
Friday, November 7, 2003, at 9:25 p.m. She was born in Madison County, Kentucky,
on April 13, 1925, the daughter of Jesse and Mary (Skinner) McGuire. Nora was a
member of the Pater Avenue Pentecostal Church. On May 29, 1941, in Hamilton, she
was married to Walter "Tato" Saylor.
She is survived by her husband, Walter "Tato" Saylor of Hamilton; three sons,
Jesse "Pete" Saylor of Middletown, Garnett and his wife Viva Saylor of Hamilton
and James "Bo" and his wife Pamela Saylor Hamilton; one daughter, Judith and her
husband Denzil Ferguson of Middletown; one brother, Marion (Irene) McGuire of
Hamilton; one sister, Genevieve Helton of Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Kenny,
Jeff, Chris, Brian, Becky, Noel Sarah, Steven and Kayleigh and eleven
great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Brittany, Josh, Chelsea, Deanna, Nash, Blake,
Dalton, Cassidy, Hannah and Levi and two great-great-grandchildren, Skylar and
Bryceson. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse McGuire; by her mother,
Mary Garrison; one daughter, Joyce Saylor in 1963; two brothers, Garnett McGuire
in WWII with the United States Army in Germany and James McGuire and one sister,
Virgie Plummer.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing
Avenue, Tuesday, November 11, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Williard Baker and
Rev. Donald Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation
will be held at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family
