Lillie H.
Rose age 98 of West Jefferson Street in Berea, passed away Friday,
February 13, 2004 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Berea.
Lillie was
born in Jackson County to the late James W. and Sarah Bell McCollum
Hurley. She was a charter member of the Westside Baptist Church. Her
life was characterized by selfless devotion to God and ministering to
others.
In addition
to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Dewey Rose, three
brothers Lester, William and Amos Hurley; two sisters Ethel Hurley and
Norma Bowling; one son-in-law Paul Wilson and one step daughter Eula
Lakes.
She is
survived by her children Barbara Evans and her husband Dick of Lexington
and Shirley Wilson of Lexington; 11 grandchildren and several great
grandchildren.
Funeral
services will be 10:00 am at the Westside Baptist Church with Rev.
George Waddle and Rev. Kale Conner officiating. Burial will follow in
the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m.
Monday, February 16, 2004 at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea.
Active
pallbearers will be Rod Evans, Johnny Evans, Mic Wilson, Mike Wilson,
Tanner Bond and Dave Bond.
Memorials in
Lillie’s memory may be made to the Westside Baptist Church.
