Ruby Mae Bowman Purkey, 87, of Pembroke Drive in Richmond, passed away Friday February 13, 2004 at the Richmond Health and Rehab Complex- Madison Manor. She was born in Rockcastle County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Cling (Elizabeth Hiatt) Bowman. She was a member of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and the former owner and operator of Purkey Food Mart for over 37 years. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday February 16, 2004 at the Berea Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Reverend Kevin Slemp officiating. There will be no visitation.
