Glenn Presnell

Glenn Presnell, 99, of Ironton, Ohio, formerly of Richmond, died Monday, Sept.
13, 2004. Mr. Presnell was a native of Gilead, Neb., and the son of James and
Grace Steel Presnell. He was a retired football coach and administrator. Mr.
Presnell was a member of the U.C.T.; BPOE; Bellefonte Country Club; US Navy
veteran; former athletic director at Eastern Kentucky University and All
American at the University of Nebraska, played pro football for the Ironton
Tanks, Portsmouth Spartans and the Detroit Lions.
Mr. Presnell was preceded in death by his wife, Lizabeth Gerhling Presnell, two
brothers and one sister.
Mr. Presnell is survived by his wife, Mary Worley Ford Presnell of Ironton,
Ohio; one son, Daniel and Margaret Presnell of Richmond; two grandchildren,
David (Brenda) Presnell and Alan (Dana) Presnell, both of Richmond; five
great-grandchildren, Kristyn, Kevin, Kameron, Peyton and Parker Presnell, all of
Richmond; one brother, Robert Presnell of Kingman, Ariz. He is also survived by
three stepchildren, four stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren,
Meghan and Paige.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Oldham, Roberts and
Powell Funeral Home in Richmond with Rev. Gene Strange and Bill Fort
officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home in
Ironton, Ohio, and from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Oldham, Roberts and Powell
Funeral Home in Richmond.
Pallbearers will be Joe Blankenship, Wayne Bowlin, Roy Evans, Don Feltner, Jack
Ison, Jerry Johns, Shannon Johnson, Roy Kidd, Ed Miracle, Frank Nassida, Carl
Park and Teddy Taylor.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the EKU football
program.
