Hazel Ruth Owens, 95, of Hanson Street Berea, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004 at The Terrace following an illness. She was a Rockcastle County native, born April 13, 1909, daughter of the late Edgar and Ollie Abney Owens, former head bookkeeper at A. & P. in Louisville, resident of Berea since 1992, and member of Berea Baptist Church.

Survivors include 1 sister, Ida Owens Cass, 1 sister-in-law, Naomi Singleton Owens, 1 niece, Linda Owens Jennings all of Berea, 1 nephew, Edgar E. Dyer of Louisville, as well as, great neices and great nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Charlie Edgar Owens, and 1 sister, Marguerite Owens Dyer.

Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 at Reppert Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Slemp officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation after 10:00 AM Friday.
