Bluford Northern age 68 of Dixie Plaza Richmond died Saturday Sept. 11, 2004 at his home. Bluford is a retired Toms Snacks employee, US Army Veteran of the Korean War and member of the Holiness Faith. Bluford was preceded in death by his father Sherman Northern and Sister Sudie Cain.

Bluford is survived by his mother Opal Carrier Northern of Berea and his wife Bonnie Jackson Northern of Richmond. 4 children: Bluford Northern Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA. Jeffery Wayne Northern of Waynesburg, KY. Patricia Carol Cohee of Peru, IN and Tammy Ray of Berea. 5 sisters Georgia Mae Van Winkle of Berea, Verdie Culton of Lexington, Ersie Owens, and Linda Gray both of Berea. 1 brother Robert Northern of Berea. Bluford is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Visitation will be Monday after 5:00 p.m. at the Lakes Funeral Home.
