Marvin K. "Honus" Moberly

Marvin K. "Honus" Moberly died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at Kenwood House in
Richmond following a lengthy illness. Born April 19, 1929, in Madison County,
Honus was the son of the late Rufus L. and Helen Fielder Moberly. He attended
EKU was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot
with 32 years of service. He is also retired with the rank of Sergeant-Major
from the Army Reserves. Honus was a member of White's Memorial Presbyterian
Church, the American Legion, the Richmond Elks Lodge, Kingston Masonic Lodge and
was a Shriner.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Chenault (Lisa) Moberly of Madisonville and
Todd D. (Cindy) Moberly; two granddaughters, Candace Faith Moberly and Chelsea
Hope Moberly, both of Berea; two sisters, Irene Rucker of Campbellsburg and Mary
Lenzer of Winter Haven, Fla., and several nieces.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oldham, Roberts and Powell
funeral home with the Rev. John Contine and the Rev. Robert Shaffer officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Oldham, Roberts and Powell
funeral home. Pallbearers will be Carrol Sower, Percy Hacker, Clyde Powell, J.B.
McCowin, Harold Jennings, Roberts Jennings, Eugene Bush, John C. McWilliams and
Carl Dollins. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
