Hiram James ‘Jim’ METCALF
Hiram James “Jim” Metcalf, age 73, a resident of Hamilton, passed away Thursday,
June 24, 2004, at Fort Hamilton Hospital. Jim was born February 24, 1931, in
Richmond, [Madison County], Kentucky, the son of Hiram and Martha (Collins)
Metcalf. On February 26, 1954, he was united in marriage to Wanda Goins and to
this union 7 children were born. Mr. Metcalf had been Sexton of St. Stephen
Cemetery for nearly forty years before his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and
fishing. Jim was the love of Wanda’s life and was the Best Father in the World.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years and 6 months, Wanda Metcalf; seven
children and their families; Charlene (Everett) Flynn, Deborah (John) Bolin,
Hiram James (Teresa) Metcalf IV, Russell Metcalf, Duane Metcalf, Mary Metcalf
and Janavee (Jay) Biggs; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren
including, Jimmy Metcalf, Kenny Senters, Heather Burnett, Ashley Metcalf and
James Metcalf.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2004, at
Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Willard Baker officiating.
Colligan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
