Homer "Jack" McDaniel Jr.
MCDANIEL, Homer "Jack" Jr., 73, of Halls Lane, husband of Chestene Wallace
McDaniel, died Fri., Oct. 15, 2004. Born in Richmond, he was a son of the late
Homer Sr. and Alma Coffey McDaniel. A retired Quality Control Inspector at
Standard Products Co., he was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and a
veteran of the U. S. Navy. Survivors in addition to his wife include his
daughter, Tracye Barnes and her husband Gavin Canon, his son, Dale W. "Red"
McDaniel, all of Lexington; two sisters, Hazel Turner of Versailles, Marie
Kenley of Indiana; a brother, James W. McDaniel of Salvisa, and five
grandchildren, Kyle McDaniel, Daylin McDaniel, Justin Jones, Holly Barnes, and
Weston Barnes. A daughter, Toni Gayle McDaniel preceded him in death. Funeral
services will be Mon., 11 am at the Hillcrest Baptist Church with Bro. Tony
Hancock, Rev. Jim Rediford, and Rev. Don White officiating. Interment will
follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Weston Barnes, Justin
Jones, Seth Knight, Tony Meadows, Danny Maxwell, Demetrius Rankin, Shaun Cooper,
and Drew Ashcraft. Honorary pallbearers include all of Jack's friends whose
lives he touched. Memorial contributions are suggested to a favorite charity.
Friends may call 2 - 6 pm today at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home in Versailles
and after 10 am Monday at the church in Lexington.
