James Lawson

James Larkin Lawson, 77, of Richmond, husband of Connie Lawson, died Saturday at
his residence. He was a native of Logan, W. Va., and the son of the late Preston
and Maude Burns Lawson.
Mr. Lawson was a member of the St. Mark Catholic Church, where he took an active
part in church work, a retired automobile dealer, he served on the American
Cancer Society Board, and chaired the Blood Mobile and was a former president of
the Madsion County Country Club.
Lawson is survived by his wife; one son, Mark Lawson; two daughters, Larkin
Lawson Hammond, of North Carolina, Kim Click Stepp, of Florida; one
granddaughter, Amanda Stepp, of Florida; and one sister, Jean Jones, of Ohio.
Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic
Church with Father Jim Sishko officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6 at St. Mark
Catholic Church.
Pall bearers will be Coach Edward Miracle, Don Edwards, Chenault Ray, Carl Noe,
Oakley Murphy, Don Cloys, Paul Taylor and Greg Agee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Coy, Eugene Wiggins, Ralph Hacker, Bobby
Baldwin, Don Foster, David Evans, John Craft, David Graham, Mike Eaves, Tom
Etherington and Porter Richmond.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to one's favorite
charity.
