Herbert Enis Lanter, 98, of Concord Road, passed away Wednesday March 24, 2004 at the Richmond Health and Rehabilitation Complex- Kenwood. He was born November 3, 1905 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Enis (Fannie Wall) Lanter. He was a farmer, landowner and worked at Madison Livestock Sales for 38 years. He attended Doylesville Methodist Church. He is proceeded in death by his wife Alma Eades Lanter, a brother Clifford Lanter, a sister Rachel Lanter Wright, and a son in law Richard Tate.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Tate, Curtis Tate, Patrick Tate, Richard Tate, Jeremiah Tate, Justin Tate, Colby Tate, and Jonathan Millard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bert and Georgia Turpin, Robert and Macie Eades, Milt and Susan Frazier, Reverend Arthur and Allene Ray, and Reverend John and Sandye Savage.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Lanter will be conducted Saturday March 27, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Turpin Funeral Home with Reverend Sam Knox officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 Friday March 26, 2004 at the Turpin Funeral Home.
