Leroy Lakes
Leroy Lakes, 68, of 6501 Germantown Road No. 181, Middletown, passed away
Friday, June 25, 2004, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born on May 19, 1936, in Madison County, Ky., the son of Ebb and Evaline
(Steward) Lakes. Mr. Lakes enjoyed hunting and working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara Lakes in 1994;
two brothers, J.D. and Leonard Lakes; and two sisters, Marie Webb and Ruby Jean
Cates.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Monnie (Lemaster) Lakes; children Tony
Lakes of Germantown, Kathy Collins, Gerald Lakes, Starletta Harris, Dean Lakes,
Sarah Lakes and Charlene Blair, all of Franklin, and Jean Mousa and Barbie Cone,
both of Springboro; four stepdaughters, Tammy Bartlett of Carlisle, and Laura
Ellen, Debbie Barrett and Jodi Tackett, all of Franklin; 32 grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; a brother, Glyndon Lakes, and his wife, Sarah, of Franklin;
and sisters Opal Pennington, Nannie Webb, Sue Taulbee, Lizzie Phillips and Liza
Baker.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 28, at Anderson
Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Revs. James Maggard and
Gary Pigg officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
