Wilburn Jones, age 88, of Rt. 2, Mt. Vernon, died at his residence Friday, April 9, 2004. He was a Jackson County native born March 3, 1916, son of the late Henry and Lydia VanWinkle Jones, a resident of the Morrill community most of his life, a property owner and farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Cruse Jones of Mt. Vernon; 3 daughters, Corrina (Doug) Whittamore of Richmond, China Holman of Corinth, Bonnie Jones of Mt. Vernon; 2 sons, Arnold (Ruby) Jones of Berea, Oscar (Velma) Jones of Mt. Vernon; 1 sister, Emma Jones of Berea; 9 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Jones, 1 brother, Ebb Jones, 1 sister, Dorothy McQueen, 1 son-in-law, Bobby Holman, and 1 grandson, John Jones.

Funeral service 2:00 pm, Monday, April 12, 2004 at Reppert Funeral Home in Berea with Pastor Wayne Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery. Visitation 6 - 9 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
