LANCASTER - Grace
Hurte, 87, of Davis Avenue, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical
Center. Born April 28,
1910, in Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Easter
Davidson Goodrich. She was a retired employee of Cowden Manufacturing Co., a
member of Paint Lick Christian Church, and the widow of Arthur Hurte. Survivors include
two daughters, Virginia Hammons of Garrard County and Marianne Hurte of
Lancaster; a son, Thomas Hurte of Newport, Ohio; nine grandchildren, including
David, Phillip and Mike Stevens, whom she raised; 12 great-grandchildren; and
five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by three daughters, Pearl Swoger, Cassie Hatfield and Phyllis Stevens, and
two sons, Robert E. Hurte and Chester Hurte. Services will be 2
p.m. Thursday at Paint Lick Christian Church by the Rev. James Cox. Burial will
be in Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be
Paul Rigsby, Billy Lanham, Mike McQueary, Gene Gillian, I.B. Harmon and Clayton
Denny. Honorary
pallbearers are the men and women of Paint Lick Christian Church. Visitation is 5-9
p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home. Memorials may go to Kosair Children's Hospital, 231 E. Chestnut St., Louisville, 40202. |
