Vadys
Williams Hurley, 88, of 118 South Cumberland Drive, Berea, died Sunday,
March 21, 2004 at the Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center following
an illness. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County born May 21,
1915, daughter of the late Allen and Katherine Short Williams, a former
Elementary School Educator with a teaching career that spanned more than
42 years, member of the Kentucky Retired Teacher's Association, Laurel
Ridges Chapter of the DAR, and faithful member of Liberty Avenue Baptist
Church.
Survivors
include 2 sisters, Lillian Williams, Margaret Clore; 3 brothers, Allen
Williams, Jr., Fred Williams, and Volley Williams, all of Berea. In
addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband,
Lester Hurley, 6 brothers and sisters, Mary Ellen Williams, Jewell
Robins, Carl Williams, Wallace Williams, Nick Williams, and James
Williams.
Funeral
service 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Reppert Funeral Home with
Rev. Kevin Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery.
Visitation 6 - 9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be:
Wesley Williams, Jack Maupin, Roger Williams, Richard Frost, Glenn Vice,
Troy Williams.
In lieu of
flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of
contributions to the Liberty Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
