Edith Powell Hoskins, age 83, of Prospect St., Berea, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at Berea Hospital following an illness. She was an Estill County native, born Aug. 30, 1920, daughter of the late Richard and Amanda Powell, former Berea College Boone Tavern employee, member of Silver Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Pearl Sunday School class.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Margaret (Bob) Davis of Berea; 1 brother, Estill Powell of West Palm Beach, Florida; 1 sister, Dorothy Caldwell of Berea; 2 grandsons, Bill (Patti) Jennings, Wyatt (Lorene) Jennings; 3 great grandchildren, Amanda Hannon, Kristi Jennings, Wyatt Jennings, Jr.; 1 great great grandson, Lucas Hannon, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Earl "Bud" Hoskins, and 3 sisters, Bertha Powell, Irene Lamb, and Christine Moberly.
Funeral service 3:00 pm, Wed. May 5, 2004 at Reppert Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Rendleman and Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery. Visitation 5 - 8 pm Tuesday. Pallbearers will be: Jake Hannon, Darrell Whittemore, Estill Caldwell, Mike Viohl, David Viohl, Jimmy Lamb, Noah Campbell, Andy Caldwell.
