Viola Mae Himes age 63 of Haiti Rd. Berea died Friday Aug. 13, 2004 at the Terrace Nursing Home. Viola was a homemaker, and member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Viola is the daughter of the late Charles Christopher Columbus Forsythe and Sarah Ann Allen Forsythe and widow of Johnny Lee Himes. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Viola is survived by her 7 children: Vivian Forsythe of Berea. LaVonda (Ray) Phillips of Berea. Phyllis (Raymond Jr.) Grant of Berea. Paul (Roxie Ellen) Himes of Waco. Terry (Darlene) Himes of Berea. Teddy (Lisa) Himes of Berea and Tina (Gary) Houston of Mt. Vernon. 2 sisters: Betty (Jim) Robinson of Indianapolis, IN. and Dora Lee Forsythe of Berea. 2 brothers Eugene Forsythe of Berea and Darrell (Diane) Forsythe of Richmond. 12 grandchildren: Will Phillips, Regina Landeverde, Robbie Lamb, Samantha, Amanda and Kellie Grant, Patricia Rogers, Ivan Gordon, Justin Brock, Jonathan, Rebekah and Christan Himes. 5 great grandchildren: Cody Hawk, Carmela Landerverde, RJ Lamb, Viola Balisterios and Jacob Gordon.

Funeral services will be Monday Aug. 16, 2004 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Himes, Rev. Larry Harris and Rev. Butch Pennington officiating. Burial will be in the Davis-Witt Cemetery. Pallbearers are Will Phillips, Robbie Lamb, Justin Brock, Scottie Johnson, Roman Johnson, Larry Phillips, Russell Himes and David Forsythe. Honorary pallbearers are all of the grandchildren and Gary Houston, Ray Miller, Laura Lunsford, Charlotte Hayes, Michelle Sturgill, Jennifer Applegate, Ronald and Deffie Himes. Visitation will be Sunday Aug. 15, 2004 from 5 – 9 p.m. at the Lakes Funeral Home. Donations are suggested to the Himes Family in lieu of flowers.
