Edith McCracken Hale, 91, of Rt. 3, Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday at the Terrace Nursing and Rehab Facility in Berea of complications following a stroke. She was a lifelong resident of Rockcastle County born Nov. 5, 1912, daughter of the late Isaac and Janie McGuire McCracken, a homemaker, and member of Fairview Baptist Church. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Elmer Hale; 6 brothers, Luther, Roscoe, Casper, Roy, Gilbert, Stanley; 2 sisters, Celia Anglin, Virgie Ballinger.

Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday at Reppert Funeral Home with Rev. Steve McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in Johnetta Cemetery in Rockcastle County.
