Marion E. French
Marion E. (Pap) French, 73, of Middletown, Ohio, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at
his residence. He is now reunited with his loving wife.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1930, in Berea, Ky., the son of George Washington French
and Lena Belle (Shears) French. He married S. Jeanie Woods on Aug. 14, 1952, in
Lawrenceburg, Ind. Mr. French was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the
assistant superintendent for Jefferson Smurfit for more than 30 years, retiring
in 1987.
He is survived by his nine children, Marion (Bud) Schmidt of Camden, Ohio, Wanda
(Danny) Allen of Berea, Ky., Jerry (Debbie) French of South Solon, Ohio, Daniel
(Debbie) French of Middletown, Lee Jena of Trenton, David (Amy) French of
Middletown, Ken French of Wilder, Ky., and Joseph (Lisa) French and Leslie
(Jeremy) McIntosh, both of Middletown; a brother, Carl (Fern) French of Berea,
Ky.; a sister, Grace (Vern) White of Carlisle, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
His parents, his loving wife, and one brother, Arnold French, preceded him in
death.
ARRANGEMENTS: Interment was held at the convenience of the family. Nein-Thompson
Funeral Home in Camden handled arrangements.
MEMORIALS: The family requests donations be made to the Shriners Hospital, 3229
Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.
