Vernon
“Doc” Evans, 86, of Old Irvine Road, passed away Monday August 2, 2004
at his home after a long illness. He was a native of Madison County and
was born August 23, 1917 to the late Mr. and Mrs. James (Alice
Richardson) Evans. He was a member of the Harris Memorial Baptist Church
and the Labor International Union # 189. He was a retired construction
worker and farmer. In addition to his parents he is preceeded in death
by 2 Brothers Arvin and Burley Evans, and 2 sisters Dovie Anglin and
Carrie Anglin.

Funeral
Services will be conducted Thursday August 5, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the
Turpin Funeral Home with Reverend Cecil Burns, and Rev. Leroy Goldson
officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation
will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday August 4, 2004 at the Turpin
Funeral Home. |
