JOE EDWARD BROWN, age 89, of Slate Lick Road, Berea, died Tuesday at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington of complications from pneumonia. He was a Woodbine, KY native born Sept. 27, 1914, son of the late Lee and Crecia Sawyer Brown, retired Ligget and Platt employee, WW II U. S. Army Veteran, member of the Methodist Faith and had been a resident of Berea for the past 2 years.

Survivors include 3 sons, Cecil Brown, Charles Isaac both of Indiana, James Isaac of Bowling Green; 1 daughter, Rose Etta Collins of Berea; 1 brother, Otis Brown of Cincinnati; 1 sister, Ann Kissel of LaTonia; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Spoonamore Brown.

Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 26, 2004 at Reppert Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Visitation 6 - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home.
