Karen Sue Deckert Blanton, 62, of Concord Road, Richmond, died on Sunday, Sept.
5, 2004 at her home.
A native of Pennsville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Burdell and Iva
Pearl Taylor. She was a housewife, a mother of four and a member of the Baptist
faith.
Survivors include her husband, James V. Blanton Sr.; two sons, Kenneth G.
(Sharon) Deckert of Brassfield and James V. (Juli) Blanton, Jr. of Waco; one
daughter, Kellie (Kenny) Horn of Richmond; one brother, Edward Taylor of Ohio
and six grandchildren, Angel Deckert, Kenny Lee Deckert, Jami Ellis, Amanda
Deckert, Jimmy Blanton III and Joni Blanton. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by one son, Joey Blanton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oldham, Roberts and Powell
Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the
Flatwoods Cemetery in Waco.
Pallbearers will be Kenny McFarland, Jimmy Gulley, Vino Gopalakrishnan, Wilbur
Blanton, Craig Henry and Richard Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be Voda Oliver
and Barbara Webb. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oldham,
Roberts and Powell Funeral Home.
