Effie Mullins Anglin age 88 of Dogwood Drive, Berea, passed away on December 7, 2003.

 

Effie was born June 8, 1915, in Rockcastle County to the late Taylor Mullins and Fannie Baker Mullins. She was a former employee of Churchill Weavers and Berea College Fireside Weaving Department. She retired form Berea College after 26 years. She was a life long Christian and a member of the Church of God.

 

Effie is survived by five daughters, Edith (Charles) Lamb, Juanita (James) Chasteen of Mt. Vernon, Shirley (Willie) Bryant of Berea, Eva (Lew) Shubert of Effingham, IL and Doris (Bill) Crase of Berea; two sons Lloyd (Diana) Anglin of Waco, Glendon (Brenda) Anglin of Berea. She was preceded in death by one son Earl Anglin and her husband Albert Anglin of 70 years. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Rosie, Nan, Viva and five brothers, Willie, Bert, David, Hardie, Tip and one grandson Timothy Chasteen.

 

Twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren survive Effie.

 

Effie lived a long and full life. She was an inspiration to her family and everyone that knew her. She enjoyed working with the students at Berea College and teaching them to weave on a fly shuttle loom.

 

Visitation for Effie will be at the Lakes Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 5:00 p.m.

 

Funeral services for Effie will be at the Lakes Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.

 

Services for Effie will be conducted by Rev. Steve Hobbs and Rev. Randal Adams. Songs will be by the Azbill family.

 

Pallbearers are Hal Hunt, Wesley Chasteen, Mike Bryant, Tony Hill, Mark Parsons and Scott Adams.

 

Burial will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens in Richmond, KY.
